CASA DE LA SEDA MURVIEDRO STORE
EXTRACTION OF THE PRE-EXISTING ESSENCE
Located in the historic environment of the Plaza de la Villa de Requena, Casa de la Seda is the result of the project promoted by the City Council and Bodegas Murviedro, consisting of the union of three old houses and their respective caves under the square itself.
With a main use as an Artisan Winery, Museum and Tasting Room, the House aims to show the history of wine in Requena, showing from the way of life to the winemaking process.
It is actually the project of a staircase, a Corten steel sculpture that, in a space equivalent to four heights, manages to communicate up to eight different levels (which correspond to the different uses of the program). Starting from the Cave, and reaching the Hall, Artisan Winery, Shop, Tasting Room, Exhibition, Meeting Room and Technical Area.
Of special interest is the intervention (or non-intervention) in the Caves, where only an Ipe wooden walkway runs sinuously and illuminates the three caves, always respecting their limits, without interfering with them.
