AWARD
Rubén Muedra is selected for the Europe 40 Under 40 Awards, the programme that distinguishes forty young European architects and designers, organised by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The Europe 40 Under 40 Awards recognise each year forty architects and designers under the age of forty whose work points to the direction of European architecture. The programme is organised by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. In the 2024–2025 selection, Rubén Muedra —who founded the studio in 2010— is among those recognised.
The entry brought together three works representative of the studio: the Passivhaus headquarters for Idai Nature, one of the first corporate offices in the country built to this standard; Vertical House, a single-family home in Algemesí; and the PTV Telecom offices in Valencia. Three different programmes —corporate and residential— bound by a single way of designing: reading of place, constructive precision and essentiality.
The recognition places the studio within a European context and reaffirms a responsible architecture, attentive to its surroundings and to the needs of each client. A distinction that looks less at a single project and more at a way of understanding the craft.
