SP Berner Offices
The area of intervention is the former hall of SP Berner´s Administrative and Management Building located in Aldaia. This project was born from the need to update the preexisting 30-year-old structure and the challenge to create new conference rooms, new places for the Managerial Assistants and a multi-use area next to the Board Room, where there is no more space available.
This is an area with triple height, characterized by a classic curved wooden staircase opposite a red industrial curtain wall. Although the objective is to create new work spaces, the project conserves the vertical continuity without diminishing the perceived interior volume. To achieve this, two subtle glass platforms are built and suspended in the triple height. These platforms allow for new uses while respecting the free space reserved for the new stairway, a singular floating piece constructed in two sections with black steel shanks, black glass handrails and black marble steps, all of which contrast with the original white marble.
The vertical panels are vinyl and of triple height, with a micro dividing line that strengthens the vertical components. Throughout the rest of the building, the wooden panels in chestnut complement the glass subdivisions. In addition to the natural light that streams in through the curtain wall, the space contains a constellation of sporadic luminaires suspended in the triple height and an additional indirect linear illumination in the circulation areas.
