Seascape Homes
Sea in front. City behind.
Seascape Homes lays out a residential sector in El Puig (Valencia), along the Mediterranean front. The proposal begins from a precise question: how to build residential fabric next to the sea without giving up a shared life articulated by green spaces, pedestrian routes and neighbourhood services.
The plan distributes the residential programme in low and mid-rise pieces that breathe between each other. Pedestrianised streets, porous blocks and a central spine of green areas connect the inner sector to the Mediterranean front. Each block keeps clear views to the sea and to the shared areas, avoiding the bulk typical of gated developments.
Homes are projected as orthogonal volumes of controlled proportions. Light external finishes, deep window frames and ground-floor porches build a contemporary Mediterranean architecture with no gestures. Day spaces open outwards; bedrooms retreat to the more intimate façades.
The proposal embeds sustainability criteria from the planning stage: optimal orientations, cross-ventilation, passive solutions in the envelope, native vegetation in public space and soft mobility within the urban fabric. Shared space is understood as the organiser of common life, not as a leftover.
Seascape Homes is not understood as a closed operation on itself. Its value lies in ordering the residential fabric from the logic of the landscape, returning to the sea its role as shared horizon, and building a fabric where housing, public space and the Mediterranean are thought together.
