Pet Hotel Canino y Felino
Sine caveis. Without cages.
Pet Hotel Canino y Felino is a project in Museros, in the Valencia metropolitan area. The starting condition is declarative: the concept name, sine caveis, means «without cages» in Latin. It is not rhetoric. It is the rule that organises the building.
The basic unit stops being the cage and becomes the room. Each guest animal has its own enclosure with natural light, direct ventilation and outdoor access. Row concentration is broken; instead, enclosures are distributed around patios and shared galleries.
Human-use zones —reception, veterinary, storage, staff area— are organised in a separate strip that does not penalise the comfort of the hosted animal. The owner reaches their pet through a dedicated path, without crossing operational areas.
Architecture is understood as care. Washable materials without losing warmth, worked acoustics to reduce stress, stable thermal control, short distances between enclosure and walking area. The building does not look like a technical facility: it looks, deliberately, like a large home.
Pet Hotel Canino y Felino is not built to house animals efficiently. It is built so that the time they spend here is, as far as possible, indistinguishable from the time they would spend in their own home.
