Cotoliu House
A house between the golf course and the horizon.
Cotoliu Houses is located in the Torre en Conill urbanisation in Bétera (Valencia), on a plot that borders the golf course and opens up to the horizon. The proposal begins from a direct question: how to build a contemporary home that takes advantage of that relationship with the green without giving up the intimacy of the house.
The layout distributes the programme in clear pieces. The ground floor solves the daytime life — entrance, living room, dining area and kitchen — on a single open plane towards the porch and the swimming pool. Bedrooms rise to the first floor, withdrawn from the street, with privileged views over the course. The basement absorbs the technical programme and the complementary spaces.
The volumetry is built with order and clean edges. Large-format stone cladding, aluminium frames with concealed profiles and corten steel surrounds tension the façade with a contained language. The interior design follows the same decision: neutral walls, natural wood in joinery and a precise control of colour in each room.
Landscape is not incorporated as a backdrop, but as part of the project. Large-format windows, through-going terraces and porches aligned with the garden build an architecture that breathes outwards. Mediterranean light crosses the spaces at every hour of the day and models both matter and vegetation.
Cotoliu Houses does not exhaust itself within its plot. Its value lies in dialoguing with the golf landscape, organising domestic life in precise pieces and building a home where light, matter and horizon are thought together.
